Northwest Indiana’s Premier Tattoo Studio
Ancient Ink Tattoo Studio became a reality when Jeff, the studio manager, shared with family members his thoughts on opening their own tattoo studio. His ideas were based on his 11-year history of tattooing and viewing the technique and results as a unique art. Jeff was intent on opening a place that reflected his art based ideas.
Family members were already open to the art of tattooing as many had been tattooed either in previous years or by Jeff himself. As they reviewed their options, it became clear they were on their way to opening a studio. All agreed, the name should reflect the history and the art of tattooing. As a result, Ancient Ink Tattoo Studio.
The family members are involved in various ways. Chris - dad is the one overseeing the finances and plans to become even more involved when he retires in two years. Mom, Pat handles the marketing and assists in the financial aspects. The three brothers, Atom - is the web designer and also does custom tattoo graphics.
There are various books of flash, state of the art computer equipment for choosing a specific design or a custom made decoration, and wall flash. Each artist has a portfolio to assist clients in exploring their preferences, the studio is a drug free environment and services are only offered to those 18 years and over. All equipment is one time use. All the Artists in the studio have basic first aid are Red Cross Certified and have completed the requirements for Universal Precautions for Tattoo Artist and Body Piercers.

Jeff Groom / Studio Manager / Head Tattoo Artist
Jeff is an 11 year artist who is a member of The National Tattoo Association and participates annually in The ongoing education seminars and classes that they provide. He is a member of LOFS Volunteer Fire Department. He was recently published in Polynesian Tattoo Today written by Tricia Allen who is an expert in the art and history of Polynesian tattoos. He has won awards in fine line and tribal tattooing.
Before his Career in tattooing Jeff was a corporate chef for a large hotel and resort chain. Jeff Started His Tattoo Career On the West Coast and traveled all over the states before finally opening Ancient Ink.

Cindy Groom / Asst. Studio Manager / 3rd Year Artist
Cindy met Jeff In 2005 after working in the medical field for 7 years as a Medical Assistant. She joined Jeff in the studio and helps him with the daily tasks of running the studio. After Successfully completing Her 1 year apprenticeship she is now a third year artist. She is also a member of The National Tattoo Association and participates regularly in their ongoing education seminars and classes. Cindy Is Partial to Traditional American Tattoos. Cindy has a daughter that recently graduated with Honors from Indiana University with a degree in Arts Management.

Jeremy Campbell / Body Piercer
Jeremy has been piercing at the studio for nearly two years now. He is The Fire Chief for The Lakes of the Four Seasons Fire Department and a Nationally Registered EMT- Paramedic. Before becoming a body piercer he was a Heavy Truck technician. Jeremy is married to the love of his life and has four beautiful children.

Jake Hinkle / 1st Year Artist
Jake successfully completed his one year apprenticeship under Jeff is now a first year artist. He enjoys various art forms; painting, digital art, and music. He is partial to old school and horror themed art work. Influenced by such artists as: H.R. Giger, Myke Chambers, and Edward Lee.
